Bookbinding and Pumpkin Pie

Hello wonderful human beings, how's your year going? Mine has been good, all things considered. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you can go back to last week's post and read about it.

Anyhow, if you remember before Christmas I said I wanted to write everyday from December 12 to January 6, and for most of it I did write everyday but then after New Year I stopped. The main reason was because of lack of what I considered to be good/worthy content. With writing every day came the need for new ideas and topics, and a lot of the ones I came up with, and some of the ones I actually published, felt like they weren't interesting enough. Another reason is not having enough time to write on daily basis, which means less time to edit and proofread, which leads to lesser quality of writing. And finally, the blog got significantly less reads while I was doing the daily posts, so there really isn't any point to posting every day.

Okay, now that we have gotten that out of the way, let's talk about what we came here for: Bookbinding and Pumpkin Pie.

When I went to college I took a bookbinding class, and have ever since been completely in love with making books. As a writer, I have always been in love with books, but knowing how to make the physical book and where the materials comes from, and being part of the entire process of making and filling a book has brought me a deeper connection to books and the art that books are as a whole.

In 2020 I didn't do any bookbinding whatsoever, and I missed it so much that decided to buy a good amount of materials so that I can make a lot of books.

If you remember a couple of posts ago I mentioned how I want to start a business, and selling handmade books will hopefully be part of that. I have been thinking about making a video of the entire process of making a book, so let me know if that is something you would like to see.

Another thing I did last week was bake a pumpkin pie for the very first time. I followed a recipe from a decorative plate that I have and it ended up being delicious. I did have to change the recipe for it to be dairy free, which slightly change the consistency and color of the pie, but not the taste.

It was easier than I thought it would be and it was a very relaxing process as you can see on the video. Sometimes I think I should be a baker because it is something I love doing.

And that is it for today. I hope you liked it, let them know in the comments below. Thank you very much for reading this far, I truly appreciate every single one of you.

Until next week, I hope you do something that makes you happy, don't forget to share your love with everyone, and let me know what are things you love doing.
