Saying Goodbye to January and Saving Edd

Hello wonderful human beings, how have you been? I am extremely tired because I went to bed at 4:30 am and only had 3 hours of sleep. You might be wondering what could drive me to willingly miss sleep and torture myself this way, and the answer is simple: Edd tried to escape his enclosure and I got caught up journaling.

Let me walk you through what happened last night. At around 11 pm, Brandon went to bed and decided to make tea to help me sleep better. My plan was to work on my February spreads while the water was boiling since they didn't need many details.

While the water was boiling I noticed that Tiny was trying to get something from under a cabinet, which seemed weird but she gave up after a couple of tries so I ignored it. Soon after, Walter came into the kitchen and also tried to get under the cabinet and looked like he was trying to hunt something, so I went to check what was going on and I found Edd, under that cabinet.

Tiny, Walter and Edd, respectively.

Thankfully, Edd let me hold him right away and I was able to put him back without any visible injuries. I check back on him again this morning and he seems to be okay, but I will keep an eye on him to make sure he isn't hurt and to make sure he doesn't escape again.

After the rollercoaster of emotions I was able to get back to my journal and finish my February spreads, which led to me staying up until 4:30 am.

I woke up again at 6:30 when Brandon left for work and managed to get back to sleep for a little bit, but here we are again.

I can't believe how fast January went by, but I am excited to see what the rest of the year brings. I am soon going to need a new journal because despite it being just January, I am already halfway through my journal.

Bye bye January, and for February it is all about insects!

This month I decided to try a new weekly spread called a rolling week with a Dutch door. This allows me to look into the meal plan section easily because the middle page is folded.

I also trimmed a section of all of the pages so that I can easily return to the calendar no matter what page of the month I am on.

This month I decided not to use a monthly mood tracker since I already have the yearly one, and instead I made my gratitude spread bigger so I have more space to write downs things I am grateful for.

Lastly I made a sleep and headache tracker. They go together because it is easier to track them that way but also because I have noticed a relationship between bad sleep and headaches. I also track the quality of my sleep, to see how often I have nightmares versus good sleep.

I started using this tracking method last month and I find it very useful. It is good to know that this month I didn't have many headaches (3) and only one migraine. Along with that I didn't have a single nightmare. If you want to know more about why I track migraines and nightmares you can read these posts: Facing the Diagnosis and Saying Goodbye to Migraines, which talk about my chronic migraines and my PTSD diagnosis.

I don't have a post that talks in depth about having trigeminal neuralgia and living with chronic headaches, so let me know if that is something you are interested in reading about.

That is all for today, I am going to go take a nap now, and until next week I hope you have a great week. Spread your love and happiness around with everyone, and don't forget t do something that makes you insanely happy!
