My Art is Moving Forward

Hello wonderful human beings, how have you been? I am excited to have some time to write here since I feel like I've abandoned the blog in the past month or so. I have so many exciting things going on right now, I can't wait to tell you all about it.

First of all, let's talk about fishtival. Fishtival was an art festival that we had in town, and I was a part of it.

I made some paintings and handmade notebooks to sell at the festival, and I sold almost everything.

I cannot begin to tell you how happy that made me, and it wasn't so much because of the money but because people liked what I had made. You see, I was very nervous about participating because I was worried that no one would like what I had done.

I know that art is more for the artist than it is for the audience, and that I should make my art regardless of what other people think, but let's be honest, there will always be a part of me that wants people to like my art. It isn't enough to make me change the way I make art, but it is enough to make me nervous about showing it to others.

The majority (if not all) of the art that I make strongly reflects who I am, as well as the things I've experienced and the things I believe in, so some times I worry that it is too personal or too particular for others to enjoy it. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find people who loved it.

Even though preparing for the fishtival was a lot of work, it was definitely worth it and I hope to do it again in the future.

Another very exciting thing is that I finally have an Etsy shop. I am still working on creating the listings for the actual products/art that I will be selling. I am also trying to figure out shipping costs and such, but everything is almost ready and I can't to show you everything that I will be selling.

I am also moving forward into making my own paper for the notebooks that I sell. Leave a comment if you want to know more about paper making. I want to make my own paper mostly to recycle and repurpose some of the waste we produce at home. Plus it is already something I know how to make, and a process I enjoy. So why not?

With that being said, this is going to all for today, but before I go, I want to let you know that I have made some changes to the overall appearance of the website with the biggest change being in the home page. So, please go check it out and let me know what you think.

Anyhow, I hope you have a great rest of your week. Go do something that makes you happy, and don't forget to share your love with everyone around you.
